Director, Training Products


Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) is looking for a Director, Training Products to lead our best-in-class training programs for our global members who are leaders in the financial world. The Director, Training Products will grow and expand AFP’s Global Training Practice by implementing training practice strategies, and meeting or exceeding financial targets. This person will develop and maintain training content, and create and identify delivery channels, market segments, and geographic regions that align with the AFP Global Strategic Plan.

 

Major Responsibilities:
 

Training strategy and development:

  • Develop, update, and execute the APS Training Practice global roadmap/strategy.
  • Oversee the development of training content to serve the treasury, payments and finance corporate practitioner.
  • Collaborate with AFP Content for Success and Content Execution teams, and assure training content strategies align with AFP overall content strategies. 
  • Expand AFP’s global instructor base.
  • Oversee current training platforms and development for new products for both individual members and corporate clients within corporate finance and treasury fields.
  • Oversee the development, execution, and growth of training programs for AFP’s two certifications: Certified Treasury Professional and the Certified Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Professional.


Financial Management:

  • Create Training Practice budgets and regular updates of financial forecasts.
  • Meet or exceed annual operating income targets.
  • Develop and implement training practice pricing strategies.  Approve all pricing and negotiation for training products.  


Manage Training Best Practices:

  • Maintain a pulse on training industry trends and make recommendations on ways AFP can innovate our training practice. 
  • Identify emerging training needs by monitoring legislative, regulatory, and industry developments—as well as competitors’ programs—in corporate treasury and finance.   
  • Collaborate with AFP Content Execution Team for potential use across non training channels.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to re-purpose existing content for bundling opportunities and delivery in other channels.


Direct the Training Team:

  • Lead the APS Training staff, which includes Managers, Training Products, and a Training Programs Coordinator.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, supervision, evaluation, and development of departmental staff.
  • Establish departmental and individual staff goals consistent with AFP’s organizational objectives, strategic plan and core values.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in adult education (or related area), possess the CPLP designation, and have 10+ years' experience in managing training programs and products. (If you have a background in the finance profession, that would really WOW us).
