DIRECTOR, EVENTS
A Typical Week May Look Like This…
- Responsibility for logistical management and lead point of contact for AFP events, both in-person and virtual. This includes, preparing and overseeing budgets, for all event logistics.
- Ensures comprehensive research and stringent negotiation for future events, including hotel contracts, event support services, site visits and onsite management. Negotiates, administers, and executes multiple contract terms and concessions with facilities and vendors in accordance with budget constraints and AFP policies and procedures.
- Manages relationships and acts as primary lead to contracted vendors supporting AFP logistical requirements, including, but not limited to, hotel global sales contacts, conference general contractor, A/V Company, beacon technology, housing vendor, mobile app provider, destination management company and all other major vendors.
- Oversee on-site execution of sponsor and exhibitor deliverables and serving as the primary liaison with the Access Sales team throughout the sponsorship sales cycle.
- Participates on the AFP Conference Planning team to ensure all logistical areas of the event is planned to meet budgetary goals while adhering to a strong event experience.
Is This You?
- At least 10 years of events logistics experience leading and managing a full calendar of events at an Association or related organization. Holds and maintains the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification.
- An organized person with excellent communication and project management skills who can multitask and understands project prioritization and has several years of experience managing staff.
- An adaptable person who is highly collaborative and fosters strong teamwork under strict deadlines and managing a full calendar of events.
- Ability to collaborate in a virtual environment and enjoys a challenge in a fast-paced workplace.
