COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

A Typical Week May Look Like This…

  • Writes and edits relevant and informative content for a wide range of AFP’s global communications outlets that support AFP’s strategic plan, content marketing strategy and key business drivers.
  • Works closely with marketing to create marketing communications strategies that align with overall AFP strategy. Responsible for content creation that aligns with AFP’s key business drivers.
  • Creates and maintains an AFP style guide that is consistent with AP style and ensures quality control among AFP publications.
  • Writes and edits content, including articles for certain AFP newsletters and guides.  Serves as lead editor for all AFP newsletters and AFP Exchange.
  • Catalogs content on AFP website to keep AFP article web pages and content (guides/surveys) fresh and relevant. This also includes proper tagging for segment web tracking purposes. Tracks & manages performance of content through Google Analytics and other channels.
  • Interviews and collaborates with AFP subject experts to generate regular content that is relevant to AFP customer segments. Works with external subject experts to obtain expertise, professional opinion, commentary, and other information to be used in articles for AFP publications and guides as needed.

Is This You?

  • At least 3 years of career writing experience including any long form, articles, and/or technical writing experience. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Political Science or Writing.
  • An organized person with excellent editing and writing skills who can multitask and understands project prioritization.
  • An adaptable person who is highly collaborative and fosters strong teamwork.
  • Ability to collaborate in a virtual environment and enjoys a challenge in a fast-paced workplace.
